Selby District Council
Selby District Council approached Ambient Creative to design four compatible logos for a major recycling project undertaken to meet government directives.
An overarching brand entitled ‘Rethink Rubbish’ was required to umbrella three independent initiatives – ‘Don’t Bin It, Box It’, ‘Sorted’ and ‘Garden Greens’. We undertook the logo designs for all four elements to create a coherent group identity as well as individual project identities. The project successfully raised recycling awareness and the branding became so recognizable it is still in use today.
We commissioned Ambient Creative as part of a launch of the Council's Recycling Campaign. We were looking for an overarching brand which could be used on leaflets, website, newspaper advertisements and on vehicles to achieve a gear-shift in the Council's recycling performance. We found Ambient Creative very professional and supportive and worked well to deadlines, they provided us with design options and gave us the opportunity to comment and adapt these before the final designs were agreed.
We were very satisfied with the results and in fact, the Council went on to commission further branding work from Ambient Creative to provide a 'suite' of brands for dry recycling, garden waste and other collection services.
This contributed to the success of the shift in recycling performance and encouraging public participation.
